Fukuhou Kiln Tokusa Hasami Japanese Teapot 28.8oz(850ml)
This Japanese teapot can make a generous 850ml(28.8oz) of tea. It is perfect when making tea for a large family or a workplace with many staff members. The body of the teapot is stylishly designed with a dimple on the side matching the shape of the sake carafe and sake cup from the same Tokusa series.
The indigo stripe pattern on the white porcelain looks great on any table. The wavy lines on the body and around the lid are distinctive and reminiscent of the beautiful sea of Nagasaki, where Hasami ware is produced.
The glaze applied to the rim around the lid gives it an elegant finish that is not too casual.
The tea strainer is called "Sasame" which is attached directly to the inside of the teapot. This allows the tea leaves to circulate easily inside the pot, making the tea more fragrant. This type of strainer is especially suitable when brewing high-quality Japanese tea.
The lid fits well with the body of the teapot allowing the tea leaves to brew properly without letting the steam escape.
The "Tokusa" series by the Hasami ware company Fukuho Kiln was first produced in 1976. Since then, it has become a long seller as a standard item. The "Tokusa" is a pattern of vertical stripes, which has been used as a pattern for tableware since ancient times and is a familiar pattern in Japan. The patterns are hand-painted one by one by craftsmen, and are carefully made.

This teapot issue beautiful work of art. I am especially amazed by the handle, I have never used a dobin style teapot and I would have expected the handle to be somewhat fragile. However, the wire construction works excellently with the teapot design to create a comfortable handle that is easy to hold and pour with, and feels very stable as well. The sasame strainer is amazing and makes my entire experience so joyful. The furoshiki wrapping was expertly made and the piece shipped very fast and in perfect condition.
