Only 6 pieces in stock!

A small sized Donburi bowl from the "Une" series is made by Taniguchi Seidojo, which has been making Kutani ware clay for three generations. The gentle colors and comfortable texture bring effortless sophistication to any table setting.

Suitable for Donburi recipes using about 3/4 cup (3/4 gou) of rice. This is the standard size of a Donburi bowl in Japan. It can be used for various kinds of Donburi Rice such as Gyudon, Oyakodon, Kaisendon, etc. It is also great for salads, cereal, fruits, etc.

The carefully selected clay of Kutani ware, known as Hanasaka ceramic stone, is inevitably discarded during the clay-making process. The silky, transparent, beautiful beige glaze was created to make the best use of this leftover clay.

Instead of using vivid colors of Kutani ware, they propose a new, simple and modern Kutani ware that can only be created by a company that knows the characteristics of clay.

Enjoy tableware that makes the most of ethical and organic materials.

ABOUT HANASAKA

“HANASAKA” is a brand of ceramics produced by Taniguchi Seidojo, which produces Kutani ware clay.

The brand name “HANASAKA” is derived from “Hanasaka Pottery Stone” which is the raw material for Kutani ware. Currently, there are only a few mines where Hanasaka pottery stone can be quarried, and while Kutani ware is widely known, such a situation is hardly recognized.

From the perspective of clay production, which they have been doing, their mission is to connect the kiln owners of the clay firing that underpins the painting process and the people beyond, and to create a production area where land, culture, and the future come together.

All of their works, created by people who know the clay well, have a hidden charm that can only be realized by holding them in your hands.
