This is a work by Ms. Okamemasa Kasui, a female Kutani ware artist. The cosmos and its leaves are drawn inside and out to enhance the beauty of the white Kutani porcelain.

Cosmos means "harmony", "peace", and "love and the joy that life brings".

It is a convenient size for serving appetizers, sweets, fruits, etc. The unique shape of this piece makes it wonderful to leave on a table as an interior decoration.

When placed on a table with sweets and fruits, it will create an elegant atmosphere and create a memorable and wonderful tea time.

Message from Okamemasa Kasui

Kutani ware, with its grayish-white ground, black line drawings and five-color painting of red, green, purple, yellow, and dark blue, is a very fascinating ceramics to me.
Attracted by the beauty of the colored paintings, I have learned the technique of overglaze painting and continue to go through trial and error.
I would like to continue to make the most of the profoundness of Japanese stoneware and porcelain, cherish the tradition, and study hard to create Kutani ware with a new sense.
I put my heart and soul into each painting so that you can enjoy a moment of relaxation when the simplicity of the flowers and plants decorate the bowl.

beautiful!!

I love this beautiful bowl! It’s so delicate and unique! The details and colors and craftsmanship make it a beautiful decorative piece as well as a serving bowl or soup/cereal bowl.
