Fukuhou Kiln Tokusa Hasami Teapot 350ml(11.8oz)

Only 36 pieces in stock!

This teapot made for Japanese green tea holds about 350ml(11.8oz) of tea which is about 2 or 3 cups in the matching teacups. The handle is a nice fit and the pot is easy to pour without any spills so you can enjoy your Japanese tea until the last drop. Remember to lightly press on the lid when pouring the tea to avoid the lid from dropping.

The "Tokusa" pattern is drawn by hand with a broom-like brush to make the thin blue lines. The wavy lines on the pot and around the lid are reminiscent of the beautiful sea of Nagasaki where Hasami ware is produced.

The tea strainer is called a "Sasame" which is attached directly to the inside of the teapot. This allows the tea leaves to circulate easily inside the pot, making the tea more fragrant. This is especially suitable for drinking high quality Japanese tea.

The "Tokusa" series by the Hasami ware company Fukuhou Kiln was first produced in 1976. Since then, it has become a long selling standard item. The "Tokusa" is a pattern of stripes which has been used as a pattern for tableware since ancient times and is a familiar pattern in Japan.

The "Tokusa" series has a variety of items for the dining table, such as plates in different sizes, rice bowls, teacups, and Sake cups. We hope you will enjoy setting your table with matching items from the "Tokusa" series.

Made with love.

This tea pot pours the tea beautifully. Beautiful to just look at. Work of art. When I made tea using this tea pot I feel I see the delicate care taken to draw those lines. I somehow feel connected. Beautiful. Thanks.
