Kaizan Kiln Wave Arita Square Plate

Kaizan Kiln is a brand that originally specialized in large square plates called "Morikomi" Plates. These large flat plates are used to create scenery by arranging food on them and inspire chefs to create their own culinary art. It is difficult to bake a large area evenly and flatly, but thanks to the ingenuity and skill of the previous generation, Kaizan Kiln has come to be known as the leading manufacturer of large serving plates.

ABOUT KAIZAN KILN
The first generation was born as the second son in a kiln that has been in existence for more than 270 years, and opened the pottery in 1955.
As a manufacturer of tableware for professional use, they have been producing tableware for use in Ryokans (Japanese-style inns) and restaurants, and other tableware to bring a sense of the extraordinary and to add a little color to the dining scenes.
As times have changed, so have the tableware, serving styles, sizes, and so on. However, they have kept the same passion and have created products that fit today's lifestyle.
ABOUT ARITA WARE
Arita Ware, made in the town of Arita in Saga Prefecture, is the oldest porcelain production area in Japan's history. Arita porcelain is characterized by its translucent white porcelain surface, dyeing using "Gosu" (indigo pigment), and gorgeous red painting using glassy overglaze pigments (red, green, yellow, purple, and blue). The pottery is highly durable and is produced in a wide variety of styles, from fine art to daily necessities. It was exported to Europe, where it was prized as fine art and called "white gold".
Arita Ware is also a prestigious brand that is admired by ceramicists from other regions as a representative porcelain production area.
