Only 24 pieces in stock!

A mini mortar with bicolored "Tokusa" pattern that is great to have on the dining table. It is the perfect size to place on a tray for one person, and makes mealtime more enjoyable.

Tokusa is the name of a plant and refers to a pattern of vertical stripes. It has been loved since the Edo period (1603-1868) as a symbol of good luck to wish for growth and prosperity because of its straight growth. This pattern is both traditional and timeless.

If you have a "Surikogi(Japanese pestle)", you can use it with it to enrich the flavor of foods such as sesame and "Sansho(Japanese pepper)" by grinding.

It can also be used not only as a mortar, but also as a "Kobachi" small bowl for storing condiments and other small delicacies.

By having these small items, which play a supporting role at the dining table, you can create a thoughtful hospitality like that of a Japanese restaurant.
