Celebrate life's milestones with this stunning celebratory chopstick set. It includes a pair of black chopsticks, measuring 23 cm (9 in), and a pair of red chopsticks, measuring 20.5 cm (8.1 in). The upper part of the black chopsticks is coated with gold and accented with shimmering silver dots, while the red pair is finished in an elegant champagne color with the same silver-dotted design.

The chopsticks come in a paulownia wooden box and are wrapped with a Japanese noshi—a traditional gift label—with "marriage" written in Japanese characters.

This chopstick set is made by Ishida, which has been crafting Wakasa lacquerware for over eighty years. Wakasa lacquerware has been a traditional craft of Obama City, Fukui Prefecture since the early Edo period.

Though named the "Marriage Anniversary" set, these chopsticks are versatile enough for any occasion, making them a thoughtful and unique gift.

ABOUT WAKASA LACQUER CHOPSTICKS

Wakasa lacquer chopsticks are traditional lacquered chopsticks from Obama City, Fukui Prefecture, with a history of about 400 years. It currently accounts for more than 80% of the national share of domestically produced lacquered chopsticks. Wakasa lacquer chopsticks was designated as a "traditional craft" on February 6, 1978 in recognition of its advanced techniques. It is characterized by their unique three-dimensional patterns created by applying layers of colored lacquer made of shells and eggshells. It was sometimes called "jewel lacquering" because of the noble shine of the patterns that represented the ocean floor.

Today, you can find a wide variety of Wakasa lacquer chopsticks, some handmade using traditional methods, some made using transfer sheets, and some made using dishwasher-safe paints. Enjoy choosing the chopsticks that best suit your lifestyle.
