The bowl is perfect for a variety of donburi dishes like katsudon, gyudon, oyakodon, and kaisendon "seafood rice bowl." With its timeless, traditional design, this bowl is perfect for everyday use as well as for serving guests on special occasions.

Yamanaka Lacquerware originated in the Azuchi-Momoyama period (1568 CE–1600 CE), when local craftsmen relocated along the Yamanaka Onsen stream, utilizing the nearby trees as their primary source of materials. It is characterized by the use of wood grain patterns to express a natural texture and is made with great attention to detail.
