Zuiho Kiln Plum-Shaped Arabesque Pattern Small Kobachi Bowl

This plum-shaped small "Kobachi" bowl is by Zuiho Kiln of Arita porcelain. The metallic-colored rim and carved arabesque pattern enhance the simple white porcelain texture, giving it a more sophisticated look.

Plum blossoms have been a favorite flower in Japan for a long time, and are a motif often used in kimonos and tableware. The plum blossoms are considered to be auspicious, as they are the first to bloom as soon as the cold winter has passed, making people feel happy and announcing the beginning of the new season.

This small Kobachi bowl comes in two colors, gold and silver. The gold has a warmer feel and the silver a cooler impression. This bowl is suitable for everyday use as well as for festive table settings. 

The size is perfect as Kobachi to serve any side dish, such as Sunomono(vinegared food) or Aemono(seasoned or sauced food) individually.
