Aochibu and Gold Arabesque Kutani Japanese Teapot Set

JPY ¥83,400

Only 2 pieces in stock!

This Japanese teapot set features Aochibu, the Kutani ware painting technique which was developed in the Taisho era(1912-1926). Small dots in blue are applied to the colored background to create a special texture. A great deal of skill is required to make the dots the same size, evenly spaced, and the same color. Combined with the gold arabesque pattern, it creates a traditional and elegant tea time.

The smooth texture of porcelain feels relaxing and soft to your mouth, bringing out the rich yet delicate taste of Japanese green tea. Teacups with lids are perfect for entertaining guests because they can keep warm and look beautiful.

The tea strainer is called a "Sasame" and is attached directly to the inside of the teapot. This allows the tea leaves to circulate easily inside the pot, making the tea more fragrant. This is especially suitable for drinking high quality Japanese tea.

The teacup has a lid, making it very easy to use when welcoming important guests. You can create a more formal impression by combining it with this coaster.

It is perfect for a special occasion when enjoying Japanese tea with your family and guests, and also an extraordinary gift for ones who love Japanese art and culture.

It comes in a wooden box and will be a perfect gift for your loved ones.

This tea set, made by Japanese artisans using the traditional techniques of Kutani ware, is a design that will never go out of style and can be used for a long time.

About kutani ware

Kutani ware is a type of pottery produced in the Kaga region of Ishikawa Prefecture and it has a history of over 350 years.
It is characterized by the heavy brilliance of the five colors of green, yellow, red, purple, and navy blue that are applied to the bold and daring lines.
Its long history has evolved through the tireless efforts and enthusiasm of people who have sought innovation while maintaining tradition.
In the early 1700s, the Kutani kilns were closed, but about 80 years later they were opened and Kutani ware was revived.
The beauty of the various styles and methods of painting is known as "Japan Kutani" and is highly regarded around the world.
