Blue Hanazume Kutani Japanese Teapot Set

JPY ¥100,000

This Kutani Japanese teapot set features Hanazume pattern, meaning filled with flowers, one of the most notable design of Kutani ware which has been handed down the Taisho period (1912–26).

Filled with blue and pink flowers all over the body with gold trimming, it has a timeless elegance and sophistication created by hand drawn technique; there are no two alike.

This Hanazume product is made only by elderly couples in their 80s, and the production volume is very limited, so it is difficult to purchase even in Japan.

The tea strainer is called a "Sasame" and is attached directly to the inside of the teapot. This allows the tea leaves to circulate easily inside the pot, making the tea more fragrant. This is especially suitable for drinking high quality Japanese tea.

The teacup has a lid, making it very easy to use when welcoming important guests. The rim of the teacup is decorated with a gold rim, giving it a sophisticated look. You can create a more formal impression by combining it with this coaster.

The splendid traditional flower design makes it an extraordinary gift for loved ones. This tea set, made by Japanese artisans using the traditional techniques of Kutani ware, is a design that will never go out of style and can be used for a long time.

About kutani ware

Kutani ware is a type of pottery produced in the Kaga region of Ishikawa Prefecture and it has a history of over 350 years.
It is characterized by the heavy brilliance of the five colors of green, yellow, red, purple, and navy blue that are applied to the bold and daring lines.
Its long history has evolved through the tireless efforts and enthusiasm of people who have sought innovation while maintaining tradition.
In the early 1700s, the Kutani kilns were closed, but about 80 years later they were opened and Kutani ware was revived.
The beauty of the various styles and methods of painting is known as "Japan Kutani" and is highly regarded around the world.

Lovely teapot set. The Hanazume pattern brightens up the room. It feels like I am drinking tea out of an art piece.
