This long plate exudes a rustic elegance with its soft grayish color, featuring delicate stylized camellia flowers in white and red, accented by dark green leaves. Its irregular edges add a subtle, hand-made quality to its rectangular form.

The camellia or tsubaki is beloved for its undeniable beauty as it blooms during the cold winter months. Having been revered for centuries, this classic Japanese flower appears frequently in art and poetry.

Drawing inspiration from nature, Tsujii Musashi imbues his creations with a subtle, rustic beauty. The understated elegance of this piece is enhanced by gohonde, pinkish spots emerging after the firing of the pottery.

Thin and lightweight, this plate is easy to handle. It can be used as a main dish when plating grilled fish or for serving a selection of Japanese wagashi sweets.

Musashi Kiln was created by Tsujii Musashi in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture in 2006, with a focus on Mino ware. Alongside his distinctive pottery-making, he engages in agricultural pursuits, finding inspiration in nature for his designs.
