This "Kikko" long table runner is an exquisite piece of Japanese craftsmanship that beautifully decorates a table. You can decorate the table with just the table runner or you can match it up with a tablecloth. "Kikko" is the name of for the pattern that resembles a tortoise shell, a symbol of longevity. It is often used as a compound pattern by combining other patterns within a regular hexagonal shape. In Japan, there is a saying, "A crane lives for a thousand years, a turtle lives for ten thousand years." The turtle is considered a symbol of longevity, and the "Kikko" pattern has long been used on clothing and furnishings as a good omen.
