Kikyoya Shippou Nishijin Ori Short Table Runner

JPY ¥40,200

This "Shippou" short table runner is an exquisite piece of Japanese craftsmanship that beautifully decorates a table. This size is ideal for placing under a centerpiece on a dining table or on a display cabinet.

In the center of the runner is a golden river with floating cherry blossoms. The main pattern design is one of the traditional Japanese patterns called Shippou where curves are connected in all directions, imitating a luminous treasure. Shippou means "seven treasures" in the Japanese Buddhist scriptures, and means something very precious. An array of flowers, bamboo leaves and scrolled pictures, all auspicious motifs are woven into this stunning table runner.

This pattern, which means "full of treasure," is suitable for all kinds of celebratory gifts, especially for housewarming and wedding gifts.

And what makes these table runners especially unique are the tassels at each end. The thread used for the tassels are dyed to match the pattern of the table runners and then braided by hand. Matching the radiant and exquisite beauty of the runner, the tassels add an extra touch of elegance to the table.

The fabric is double-lined and can be used on both sides. It is sturdy and durable and also water-resistant which makes it easy to care for. In case of any kind of soiling or staining, lightly tap the fabric with a moistened towel to remove the dirt.

When removed from the box, the runner will probably have folding creases. Place a thin cloth over the table runner to iron out any creases.
