Tsubame MODERN WABI SABI Mirror Finish Coffee Spoon
This is a coffee spoon from the "MODERN WABI SABI" series, characterized by a fusion of traditional and stylish ambiance. It is crafted in Tsubame-Sanjo, a region that accounts for 90% of domestic metal utensil production in Japan.
This elegant and high-quality cutlery is designed by Yukari Nishida, a ceramic artist from Arita ware. The handle features a tasteful cracked pattern that reminds one of Japan's beautiful traditional earthen walls.
Made from 5mm(0.2in) stainless steel square material, this coffee spoon is sharper than the average spoon, yet has a solid and luxurious feel.
It is also dishwasher safe.

This series created by Arita ware ceramic artist Yuka Nishida during her stay in Italy, inspired by the 20th-century Italian painter and sculptor Alberto Burri. The series is influenced by the concepts of "cracks" and "texture." By combining the Japanese notion of "beauty in imperfection" as introduced by Wabi Sabi with a contemporary twist, this concept presents a distinctive technique known as "Modern Wabi Sabi." The texture and simple form of the pieces showcase a stylish aesthetic while preserving the natural feel of the materials, without being overly earthy.

Beautiful but smaller than expected. Would be good for spices but too small for sugar spoon.

Thank you for leaving your comment. We also thank you for bringing up the size of the spoon! The spoon was created after the same style of fork which was designed for eating Wagashi, Japanese sweets. Therefore it had to be smaller than the sugar spoon. Also we would like to create the world of "Wabi-Sabi" by making them(fork and spoon) small to show the simplified essense to them. Having said that, it is also a great idea to use this spoon for spices! Please come visit Musubi again!
