Featuring the distinctive nami-yu glaze, which is made from the ashes of the Kyoto forest, this tea pot boasts a natural clay color in creamy-white. With the camellia design, you're treated to the serene presence of this beloved flower, enhancing your tea-drinking moments.

Founded in 1868 as a Kiyomizu ware wholesaler in Kyoto, Tosen Kiln uses its own blend of soil and glaze, preserving the methods and quality of the works of Nonomura Ninsei, the renowned potter said to have established the art of Kyo ware in the 17th century.

The delicate art of underglaze painting is employed to breathe life into the camellia design, passionately adored and developed by Taniguchi. The leaves showcase an artful blend of dark and light green shades to create equilibrium, while the petals gleam with white and red dyes, offering a unique, raised, and glossy finish. This exquisite contrast is juxtaposed against the watercolor-esque backdrop of the leaves. All of these are meticulously hand-painted by expert painters steeped in the tradition of Japanese style painting, who infuse each piece with depth and originality, far surpassing expectations of mere decoration.

The teapot's handle, masterfully shaped from a branch, creates a harmonious contrast with the stoneware's smoothness, complemented by the organic texture of wood. As tea flows from the spout, the elegantly rendered camellia petals and leaves draw the eye, marrying functionality with art. Despite its lightness, the pot's rim is exquisitely defined by a line of gold script, and its base is tenderly brushed with gold, subtly enhancing the intricate design. Each rotation of the pot reveals the camellia's full splendor, transforming every pour into an enchanting ritual.
