ARITA PORCELAIN LAB YAZAEMON WHITE SAKE COOLER

Arita Porcelain Lab Yazaemon White Sake Cooler

JPY ¥17,500

Only 3 pieces in stock!

Although small in size, one can appreciate the detailed and elegant patterns of the "Old Imari" style crafted on this white sake cooler.

It is perfect for chilling sake bottle as small as 360ml(12.2oz), and a half size of wine would be just right.

It can also be used in a variety of ways, depending on your ideas. It can be used to hold small items, as a flower vase, or placed as is on a shelf for interior decoration.

The deep blue color comes from the signature technique seen on "Old Imari" pieces called "sometsuke" where a blue and white glaze is the first given to the product.

The patterns of chrysanthemums, cherry blossoms, pine, bamboo, and plum are gorgeous, and the gold lines accentuate the design.

Arita porcelain is characterized by its translucent white porcelain surface, dyeing using "Gosu" (indigo pigment), and gorgeous red painting using glassy overglaze pigments (red, green, yellow, purple, and blue). The pottery is highly durable and is produced in a wide variety of styles, from fine art to daily necessities. It was exported to Europe, where it was prized as fine art and called "white gold".
