SINGAMA Blue Line Seto Ware Square Kobachi Bowl 4.5in

JPY ¥6,500

Only 12 pieces in stock!

This kobachi bowl is perfectly suited for serving side dishes. The lines drawn along the rim accentuate the bowl elegantly. Employing a technique of "Sometsuke" (underglaze cobalt blue) painting on a base brilliantly fired to a pure white, each piece is meticulously crafted, embodying the essence of Seto Sometsuke ware.

Though square, the form exhibits subtle irregularities, allowing one to feel the warmth of handmade craftsmanship amid its sharpness. Since the painting is done by the hands of artisans, no two pieces are exactly alike. Each stroke varies in thickness, neither too straight nor too rigid, exuding a gentle softness.

Its size is ideal for presenting a single serving of salad, fruit, and side dishes. The depth of the bowl makes it versatile for serving dishes with broth or even ice cream. It's a piece that can be utilized regardless of the season.
