Gen-emon Kiln
Gen-emon Kiln carries forward the ko-Imari tradition that has endured since the Edo period, sustaining it into the present day. Its defining characteristic is an unwavering commitment to handcraft, unchanged since its founding in 1753. From forming and hand-painting to firing, each stage is entrusted to skilled artisans who work in dedicated collaboration.
While steadfastly preserving the traditions it is entrusted to protect, Gen-emon Kiln also embraces new challenges with a spirit of open inquiry—including collaborations with designers in Japan and abroad.
