Colored Round Side Plate

Japanese sweets and other delicacies can be showcased on the glossy surface of this plate. The urethane coating allows you to serve dishes directly on the plate without worries of staining, making it suitable for everyday use as well as for entertaining guests. It can be washed with mild dishwashing detergent after use, making it easy to care for.

The plate comes in two colors of an auspicious red and a chic deep purple. The red adds a classic and festive flair to a setting, and can be used for traditional Japanese sweets when enjoying matcha. The purple creates a modern and sharp contrast with the cedar rim. The dark-colored surface shows the alluring reflection of the dish served on the plate.

Odate Kougeisha est l'un des plus anciens fabricants de magewappa — Artisanat traditionnel japonais de cintrage du bois. Originaire de la ville d'Odate, dans la préfecture d'Akita, le magewappa a une histoire vieille de 1 300 ans. Les objets magewappa d'Odate Kougeisha sont fabriqués avec soin et minutie, façonnés un à un par des artisans utilisant des techniques traditionnelles inchangées depuis des générations.

Odate Magewappa

Odate magewappa Le cintrage du bois est une technique japonaise pratiquée à Odate, dans la préfecture d'Akita, depuis 1 300 ans. À la fin du XVIIe siècle, il s'est développé comme activité secondaire pour les samouraïs de la classe inférieure du château d'Odate. En 1980, le magewappa d'Odate a été officiellement reconnu comme artisanat traditionnel japonais, le seul à recevoir cette distinction parmi tous les magewappa du Japon.
