Sea Creatures in Blue Sake Set

This refined sake set consists of a tokkuri sake carafe and two guinomi sake cups, each adorned with hand-painted motifs of marine life, crabs, squid, and shrimp. The mark on the bottom signifies an original collaboration between Souraku-an and MUSUBI KILN.

Created using the traditional sometsuke technique, known for its expressive blue-and-white painting style, the design captures the vitality of these sea creatures through fluid brushwork. Fine gold and silver accents trace the rim, adding a soft gleam and a touch of airiness to the serene composition. Every stage, from forming the clay to the final hand painting, is completed within a single workshop, ensuring perfect harmony of craftsmanship and finish.

Beyond its visual elegance, this sake set is designed for a comfortable drinking experience. The carafe, with its slightly rounded body, holds approximately 300 ml (10 fl oz) and offers an easy, natural pour. Each guinomi cup holds about 70 ml (2.4 fl oz), with a smooth rim that rests softly against the lips, allowing the aroma and flavor of sake to unfold with every sip.
