Tales of a Century Hammered Tin Guinomi Sake Cup

This is a guinomi sake cup made of hammered pure tin. This is an enhanced version of a standard product of Seigado, a metalwork studio in Niigata prefecture.

After melting tin into a sheet form, it is hammered into shape using the hammering technique called tsuiki, making the piece seamless.

This product is part of a project launched by Niigata Prefecture under the theme of "Tales of a Century," products to be used for the next 100 years. It is created by an outside designer and aims to coexist with the warmth of craftsmanship and sophisticated design.

Tin was prized as a material suitable for storing water and other liquids because of its ability to purify what is put inside it. It is also suitable for enjoying the taste of alcohol itself since it does not retain any odor.

Delivered in a wooden box, which makes it a perfect gift for your loved ones.

Seigado

L'atelier de Seigado est situé au pied du mont Yahiko, dans la préfecture de Niigata, où du cuivre de haute qualité a été découvert il y a environ 300 ans. C'est dans cette région que se pratique la fabrication traditionnelle. tsuiki la technique du travail des métaux trouve ses racines.
