Charmed Over with Blue and White

Charmed Over with Blue and White

De Team MUSUBI

No rules, no rush—just beautiful porcelain, fresh fruit, and tea that remains warm for as long as you desire. If you have something special to savor—a perfectly ripe citrus, a delicate wagashi—the tableware should be just as exquisite, quietly framing each treat while stealing the show in its own unspoken way. And before you know it, you’re completely enchanted—caught in the simple pleasure of sipping tea at a table that asks nothing of you but to stay a while.

Framing Flavors

There’s something instantly refreshing about a table that masterfully balances contrast—bright fruit against matte white, soft curves outlined with quiet structure. Each plate is designed to showcase its contents with clean edges and deliberately measured spacing. And together, SINGAMA’s blooming tableware unfolds like a beautiful veil of azure flowers.

Slices of citrus and strawberries rest on porcelain like they’ve found their proper place. And the soft glaze keeps things from becoming too sharp or shiny, letting the fruit speak in full color.

The striped glass bowl is best used with lighter-colored foods—think panna cotta, yogurt, or fruit in syrup. The translucent glass fits easily among the surrounding porcelain, keeping the overall look clean and balanced.

Nearby, this sculptural metal vase filled with spring blooms brings a cool glint to the scene. The muted silver tones reflect off the pristine white tablecloth, creating an almost icy calm.

SINGAMA’s Sometsuke: Understated Beauty, Lasting Charm

These porcelain pieces from SINGAMA feature original sakura and camellia designs, painted using a traditional Seto sometsuke technique. A generous brush is used to apply gosu (blue pigment) in layered, shaded strokes. The result is a soft, hand-painted design with depth and fluidity, giving each plate a gentle character that pairs naturally with food.

This round plate lifts up the fruit salad tucked into an orange half and sits neatly on one end, while a vivid green wagashi beside it becomes a tiny sculpture all its own.

The teacup carries the same calm. Rounded and soft in the hand, it rests on a dark lacquered teacup coaster that gives just enough contrast to make the blue tones on white porcelain feel even lighter.

Let the blue-and-white do what it does best: carry the mood without forcing it. And if the tea goes cold? Just pour another pot. No rules here. Just good company, small sweets, and the kind of table you’ll want to come back to again and again.
