Oribe Brown Matcha Bowl

This Oribe Brown Matcha Bowl is handcrafted by a skilled artisan, with a full, gently rounded form that rests naturally in the hands. Both inside and out, it is coated in a rich Oribe glaze whose depth of green reveals quiet sophistication. The subdued, earthy tone carries a distinctly beautiful elegance without excess, refined yet warm.

A base coat of Kizeto glaze—a pale yellow glaze unique to Mino ware— is first applied, followed by layers of Oribe glaze brushed by hand, creating soft gradations of green and amber that recall natural landscapes. The clay, known for its subtle tone and texture, responds uniquely to the fire, allowing tranquil beauty to emerge through both process and form. 

Cupped in shape, the bowl opens gently outward, creating a sense of calm invitation as it rests between the palms. Based in Mitake, Gifu Prefecture, family-run studio Deidei crafts Japanese tableware that carries on the wisdom and techniques of Mino ware passed down through generations. Mino Ware

Mino-Ware, die in der Region Tono in der Präfektur Gifu hergestellt wird, ist in der japanischen Töpferei für ihr reiches Erbe und ihre Vielseitigkeit bekannt. Sie umfasst über fünfzehn verschiedene Stile und ist damit vielfältiger als viele andere japanische Keramiken. 

Mittlerweile macht Mino-Keramik über 50 Prozent der japanischen Keramikproduktion aus und ist unübertroffen beliebt. Mino-Keramik wurde 1978 als traditionelles Handwerk anerkannt und spiegelt eine Mischung aus historischer Tiefe und moderner Relevanz wider – ein Beispiel für außergewöhnliche Handwerkskunst.
