Musubi Lab at Ambiente 2026

Musubi Lab exhibited at Ambiente 2026, an international trade fair held in Frankfurt, Germany, from February 6 to 10. Ambiente is a leading B2B exhibition spanning tableware, interior decor, and gifts. Widely recognized as a key platform where global lifestyle trends are shaped, it brings together buyers and brands from around the world to engage in business.

At this year’s exhibition, a broad selection of traditional Japanese crafts and works by artisans was presented, including ceramics, lacquerware, bamboo crafts, and glassware. The display was designed not only to showcase the pieces themselves but also to offer insight into the materials, tools, and cultural and philosophical contexts behind each creation.

Throughout the event, visitors from across Europe and other regions stopped by our booth, including retail buyers, department store representatives, tea specialists, fine-dining professionals, and designers, highlighting the growing interest in traditional Japanese crafts. In particular, many showed an appreciation for the pieces not simply as products, but for their cultural context and the stories behind them. The display of materials and tools alongside the finished pieces was also met with positive feedback.

Across the exhibition as a whole, while many brands emphasized minimal, refined design or focused on cost-efficient mass production, there was also a notable presence of exhibitors who prioritized craftsmanship, sustainable materials, and regional identity. This reflects a strong recognition among audiences of the value found in objects with a clear sense of origin and narrative.
