1. What Is MUSUBI Gallery
In MUSUBI Gallery, we showcase works that represent the highest echelon of traditional techniques passed down through generations. These are creations by master artisans who have not only refined their skills to an exceptional level but have also expanded the possibilities of their craft through individual artistic intent.
Among them are artisans officially recognized by the Japanese government as Holders of Important Intangible Cultural Heritage, an honor granted in recognition of their outstanding contributions to craft and culture. Their achievements stand as lasting legacies and hold a significant place within art history.
Each piece is meticulously handcrafted over the course of many months, resulting in a creation unlike any other. These are not works intended to be reproduced, but singular expressions shaped by philosophy and technique.
2. Custom Orders in MUSUBI Gallery
Every work in the Gallery is born from an uncompromising pursuit of artistic thought and mastery. For this reason, no piece can ever be recreated in exactly the same form. The works presented here serve as an archive of each artist’s work, capturing forms that could only emerge at a specific moment in time.
While it may be possible to consult with an artist about a work with a similar impression, each custom order ultimately becomes a one-of-a-kind piece, created exclusively for you.
Because of this, delivery timelines cannot be guaranteed for custom orders placed through the Gallery. Each piece comes into being as skill, artistic philosophy, and natural forces converge. Even the artist cannot foresee the point at which completion is reached. Only after repeated trials and refinements, and once the artist is fully satisfied, is the piece entrusted to you.
Custom Order Process
1. Submission of inquiry form
2. Consultation with artist
3. Presentation of quotation
4. Payment of 50 percent or 100 percent of artwork price, depending on order
5. Creation of artwork
6. Payment of remaining balance, if applicable
7. Shipment of artwork
Important Notes
Due to the nature of the creative process, exact reproduction of a work is not possible. However, consultation is possible for a work with a similar impression.
Submitting a request does not guarantee that the artist will accept the commission. Each request serves solely as the initial step in the consultation process.
