Shoebill Medium Bowl

Capturing the endearing presence of the shoebill, this medium bowl is a testament to the charm of Japanese hand-painted tableware. Each bird is rendered in soft, muted tones across both the interior base and the exterior walls, with the paintings created using the technique of Japanese paper dyeing, or washi-zome. Because every shoebill is painted individually by hand, no two expressions are exactly alike, lending each piece a distinct character.

The design is elevated by delicate gold stippling on the bird’s head, body, and feet. These subtle metallic accents catch the light as you move the bowl, adding a refined shimmer that highlights the whimsical nature of the subject.

Dann Ware

Tobe-Porzellan wird in der Region Tobe der Präfektur Ehime im Nordwesten der Insel Shikoku hergestellt. Das weiße Porzellan mit seinem schönen, leicht bläulichen Farbton, der durch den Eisengehalt entsteht, wird nach wie vor sehr geschätzt und geliebt. Tobe-Porzellan bewahrt auch inmitten der Modernisierung seinen hohen Respekt vor traditionellen Handwerkstechniken.
