Colorful Globe Flower Vases

Charming and handmade, this glass bud-shaped vase draws inspiration from seasonal moments—like spring breezes and summer skies. Though palm-sized, it has a pleasantly weighted, rounded form, perfect for short-stemmed flowers.

This flower vase is crafted using a technique known as pin blowing. A small hole is pierced in the glass, and a piece of dampened newspaper is inserted; the steam generated from the moisture expands the glass from within, shaping it naturally. This delicate process is used for smaller pieces—such as miniature vases—that are difficult to form through the standard method of blowing air through a pipe. The result is a rounded, smooth surface achieved only through careful control of the pin’s placement, the amount of moisture, and the speed of the steam.

Tsugaru Vidro

Tsugaru Vidro es una cristalería japonesa artesanal elaborada por Hokuyo Glass en la prefectura de Aomori. Fundada en 1949 con la producción de flotadores de pesca de vidrio, el estudio descubrió posteriormente que añadir arena local de Shichiri-Nagahama creaba un llamativo tono verde, lo que inspiró nuevas exploraciones del color.
