Selected from the kiln’s archive of classical motifs, the decoration features intertwined musubi (knot) and karakusa (arabesque) patterns rendered in layered tones. Deep cobalt areas create visual structure, while red accents and fine gold detailing introduce a celebratory richness. Flowing vines symbolize prosperity, and the knot represents enduring human connection. Carefully composed across the cup-and-saucer form, the design reveals depth from every angle.

The kiln’s proprietary cobalt, blended in-house, is known for its clarity and strength. Broad fields of blue balance precise brushwork and luminous gold, resulting in a surface that feels both dynamic and composed. The reverse of the saucer bears the emblems of Gen-emon Kiln and MUSUBI KILN, marking this collaboration.
