Ceramics

Ceramics is the broad term for objects made from clay or other inorganic materials hardened by heat, ranging from tableware and decorative objects to tiles, sanitary ware, and industrial materials. At MUSUBI KILN, we use “ceramics” when referring to the material or the field as a whole.

Pottery is one category within the larger field of ceramics. In everyday English the two terms are often used interchangeably for tableware, while ceramics tends to be the broader or more technical term.
