Raised in a farming family in northern Japan, YUCa is an entrepreneur and culinary educator sharing everyday Japanese home cooking with a global audience. As a former food writer in Toronto and New York, she returned to Tokyo, where she cooked professionally before founding YUCa’s Japanese Cooking in 2013, which has since welcomed over 10,000 students worldwide. She holds multiple professional credentials and has twice earned Tripadvisor’s “Best of the Best” award (2021, 2023).
