This Kutani cup and saucer features Hanazume pattern, meaning filled with flowers, one of the most notable design of Kutani ware which has been handed down the Taisho period (1912–26).
Filled with blue and pink flowers all over the body with gold trimming, it has a timeless elegance and sophistication created by hand drawn technique; there are no two alike.
This Hanazume product is made only by elderly couples in their 80s, and the production volume is very limited, so it is difficult to purchase even in Japan.
Your usual teatime will turn into a wonderful experience with this one of a kind teacup and saucer.
