Estimated Shipping Widget will be displayed here!
This is a chopstick rest in the shape of a traditional Japanese rice cooking pot called a "Hagama". The "Hagama" shape was originally designed to be convenient for cooking rice in a kamado(cooking furnace) in old times.
Although small, it has a moderate weight and has an outstanding presence on the table. The distinctive design has a nostalgic feel and enhances the atmosphere of Japanese cuisine.
The chopstick rests are made at the Ihoshiro Kiln in Mizunami City, Gifu Prefecture. Their craftsmen make chopstick rests one by one, not using mass production or machining methods.
In Japan, chopstick rests are an indispensable piece for table setting. Although it is a small tableware, you can express your personality by choosing a motif that suits the season or a festive event.
