Description

This Japanese Flat Sake cup is created by focusing on easy-to-use and beautiful shapes. It is handcrafted by Kinzan Kiln and especially excels in Kinsai, one of the famous Kutani ware's glazing technique with a gold leaf.

This "Shugu" series is made in collaboration with a product designer Moritaka Yoshida, who used the method to make a model and verify the shape of each item on a real scale, and then discuss it with the craftsmen who make the porcelain base over and over again.

It used both techniques of kinmori ( heaping up gold paint ) and shiromori, heaping up white paint in a convex shape. By painting delicate arabesque patterns in the technique, it is possible to express the subtle contrast between the white color of the base color and the fine pattern.

This delicate pattern adds a special touch and makes it a truly special one. This elegant and classy piece is perfect for special occasions and also for any special gift.

Sakazuki

We have curated a collection of exquisite sakazuki sake cups from all over Japan, designed to enrich the blissful experience of savoring your favorite sake. The term "sakazuki" refers to any sake cup, though it traditionally describes a flat, plate-like vessel, representing the oldest style. Holding the cup delicately with both hands—grasping its sides and bottom—embodies the essence of Japanese sake culture.

Sakazuki cups typically contain just a few sips, and the beautifully adorned ones are treasured by collectors for their aesthetic appeal. Using a stunning sakazuki for a special sake, a celebratory occasion, or when hosting guests, will create an unforgettable moment.
