Biseki Kiln is a family-run pottery studio nestled within Satoyama ARTIST-MURA in Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture—a creative community where twelve artisan studios thrive, each dedicated to different crafts. Founded in 1980 by Ando Sanae, the kiln has been a place of dedication to the art of pottery, from wheel-throwing to glazing. Today, her husband, Shiro, lends his artistry to painting the kiln’s signature small plates. Since 2002, Biseki Kiln has focused on creating exquisite tableware using lead-free pigments, blending timeless traditions with artistic innovation.
