The contrast between the indigo lid, shaped like a chrysanthemum flower, and the black body creates a modern impression. This donabe clay pot is compatible with both induction cooktops and open flames, and can also be used on electric stovetops and in ovens.
The ceramic coating on the inside of the earthenware pot creates a non-stick surface that is easy to clean. The hard coating is scratch-resistant and designed for long-lasting use.
With its shallow shape, the 2.7 L (91.3 oz) size is suitable for donabe dishes for three to four people. For soups, stews, curries, and cheese fondue, it can accommodate portions for up to four to five people.
It can be used immediately after purchase, as no seasoning is required. It is 15% lighter than conventional products while retaining the heat-retaining properties of a donabe clay pot. The black body is finished with an in-house developed glaze that helps prevent odors and stains.

Donabe Clay Pots
Donabe, traditional Japanese clay pots, are often used in restaurants and homes to serve authentic hot pot dishes like chanko nabe, yudofu, and oden. These winter favorites are especially flavorful when prepared in a donabe.
Experienced chefs and science agree: cooking with a donabe makes food more delicious. Research shows that compared to a metal pot, cooking with a donabe clay pot can produce as much as 30% more glutamic acid, a key component of umami.
