With a history of almost 1000 years, Seto Ware is deeply rooted into Japanese daily lifestyle. It is a historic ceramic ware and included in one of the six oldest kilns in Japan, known as "Rokkoyo".
It was the first area in Japan to mass-produce porcelain, and the word "Seto-mono" has become synonymous with ceramics in Japan. Seto Ware is known to be highly diverse in style and design today.

The bowl was purchased as a birthday gift for a relative. She was very pleased with the design. We were both impressed with the exquisite presentation that was so elegantly wrapped in a lavender furoshiki. She prepares the osechi annually for the family’s New Year’s celebration. The bowl looked beautiful sitting on the table beside the other Nihon shoku specialties.
