Blue Tokusa Mino Ware Donburi Bowl L
This large sized Japanese Donburi bowl features the traditional Japanese "Tokusa" pattern in Blue on white porcelain. The simple design makes it suitable for any table setting.
It is suitable for rice bowl recipes using about 2 cups (2 gou) of rice. Also suitable for noodles with soup, such as ramen, Udon, Soba, etc. Because of its depth, it can be used for larger-than-usual amounts of noodles or a lot of toppings.
Tokusa is the name of a plant and refers to a pattern of vertical stripes. It has been loved since the Edo period (1603-1868) as a symbol of good luck to wish for growth and prosperity because of its straight growth. Each line drawn by hand using rusty paints with high iron content, giving it a warm finish.
