Description

This Japanese rice bowl, crafted by the Le Sanpei (Yi Sam-pyeong) Kiln, is shaped on the potter’s wheel and adorned with hand-painted floral and arabesque patterns. Its indescribable charm has a soothing effect on those who behold it.

For early Imari, the underglaze blue painted patterns are simple, often painted freely with blue paint called gosu. When fired, the base color of the ware becomes slightly tinted and has a semi-glossy appearance.

The size is perfect for those who prefer a small portion of rice or for children. It is perfectly durable, suitable for long-term use.

Rice Bowls

Rice bowls are indispensable tableware for the Japanese dining table. Since they are used so often for Japanese food, many people are particular about them. It is important to choose one that is not only beautiful to look at, but is also the right size for your hand and easy to hold.

We recommend that you get a dedicated rice bowl for each member of your family. It's also a good idea to have a few available for different occasions, in varying colors and patterns that match the season and table setting.

Sometsuke

Sometsuke is a decorative Japanese pottery technique also known as Blue and White. It is cherished worldwide for its cobalt blue and white contrast. The visually appealing design, combined with a fine, smooth finish and lightweight feel, enhances the user experience. This makes it especially valued not only in tableware but also in art pieces.
