Negoro Stripe Round Shaped High Stand Yamanaka Lacquerware Tray
This round Japanese tray with high stand by Yamanaka Lacquerware features a lacquer technique called "Negoro-Nuri", a method of lacquering by which a black lacquer underneath the red lacquer is visible. The more you use it, the more black lacquer you can see, and the more vintage taste you get. The stripe pattern was made by woodturning techniques.

It is characterized by the use of wood grain patterns to express a natural texture, and is made with great attention to detail.
It was designated as a traditional craft by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry in 1975.
