Atelier Yu Brilliant Flower Kutani Square Plate S
These Japanese small plates are decorated with pretty flowers from one of the popular “brilliant flower" series by Atelier Yu, a Kutani ware brand which is known for its delicate and elegant handiwork.
The thickness of the colored areas is due to the fact that they are painted with a brush applying Japanese color paints called "Wa-enogu". Each design is hand-painted to give a sense of warmth.
Available in 5 colors: blue, pink, green, yellow, and purple. The size is great for individually served side dish, desserts, fruits, and so on.
The surface of the plate has a wavy design that makes the food look beautiful. This will be a great gift for yourself or your loved ones.

About kutani ware
Kutani ware is a type of pottery produced in the Kaga region of Ishikawa Prefecture and it has a history of over 350 years.
It is characterized by the heavy brilliance of the five colors of green, yellow, red, purple, and navy blue that are applied to the bold and daring lines.
Its long history has evolved through the tireless efforts and enthusiasm of people who have sought innovation while maintaining tradition.
In the early 1700s, the Kutani kilns were closed, but about 80 years later they were opened and Kutani ware was revived.
The beauty of the various styles and methods of painting is known as "Japan Kutani" and is highly regarded around the world.

I own this plate in the purple. The shade of this purple is noticeably different (lighter and softer) than the purple in the other Atelier collection, I wonder why this is so. Regardless, it is an absolutely beautiful light plum purple shade, perfect for the autumn season!!!
