Children will loving eating from this adorable Hasami ware plate designed with little rabbit faces. The rabbits have a slightly differing expression with their dotted eyes and cute mouth and nose.
The base of the plate is in a soft pink color with yellow polka-dots. The polka-dots are drawn in a thicker paint that gives a bit of texture on the smooth Hasami ware porcelain.
The plate is divided into 4 sections. The biggest section can be used for a main dish, the smaller sections in the back for side dishes and the smallest for ketchup or soy sauce.
All the edges are smooth for safe use by small children and the plate has enough weight not to move around when children use a spoon or folk to eat from the plate.
Unlike plastic or melamine, Hasami ware porcelain has a beautiful shine that highlights the drawings on the item. Make your own set of tableware for your little ones with matching cups and rice bowls. These items will also make wonderful gifts.

Oshin Kiln was established in 1685 as a kiln of the Omura Domain and produced many ceramics throughout the Edo (1603 CE–1868 CE) and Meiji (1868 CE–1912 CE) periods. According to the Goson-ki, an old document of the Omura clan, Oshin Kiln had thirty-nine kiln chambers and a total length of 170 m (558 ft).
The current Oshin Kiln, rebuilt in the Showa period (1926 CE–1989 CE) on the site of the former kiln, is said to be the largest and longest climbing kiln in the world. Today’s Oshin Kiln aims for further creative development while passing on the techniques and thoughts of its predecessor potters.
Crafts
Hasami ware is a traditional Japanese ceramic produced in Hasami Town, often called the "Town of Pottery," located in Nagasaki Prefecture, Kyushu. For over 400 years, it has been cherished as durable and practical tableware for everyday use.
It is known for its vibrant hand-painted designs on a pure white porcelain base—an iconic feature of Japanese porcelain. While Hasami ware continues to honor traditional patterns, artisans are constantly creating new designs that suit contemporary lifestyles, blending timeless beauty with modern functionality.
