Snow Shino Mino Ware Ramen Bowl S
The beautiful white color of this small ramen bowl is characteristic of Shino ware. The glazed areas are speckled with a flair that is both liberating and sophisticated.
While most of the bowl is glazed and feels soft and smooth to the touch, the random application of the glaze leaves some areas unglazed, creating a delicately rough texture. Each handmade piece is entirely unique, with random shades of light moss green, brown, and beige adding to its charm.
The bowl is perfect for a variety of noodle dishes, such as udon or soba. It may be slightly small for ramen if you wish to add a lot of toppings. With its wide rim, it’s also suitable for serving salads, and side dishes such as sunomono, light salads seasoned with rice vinegar, and Japanese-style stewed dishes.
Shino ware is a type of Mino ware that was fired in Mino, Gifu Prefecture, during the Azuchi–Momoyama period (1573 CE–1603 CE). Mino ware boasts a remarkable variety of styles and is celebrated for its rich traditional heritage, while also excelling in the production of contemporary pottery. It is widely distributed in Japan, yet remains very high-quality, which makes it a wonderful choice for daily use.

I ordered the bowls on Sunday and received them on Wednesday... so fast! The bowls are gorgeous and reflect well the art of Japanese pottery. I went to Japan 2 months ago and fell in brought a huge bag of pottery, but I can't get enough of them! I was so happy to find the website of Musubi Kiln so I can buy more without having to worry about airlines carry-on weight. On top of that, each bowl came quadruple-wrapped in bubble wrap. I'm very happy!
