This is a porcelain two-tiered box decorated with flower motifs. The design is not only suitable for festive occasions such as New Year's, but is also practical for everyday use. The box comes with a lid, allowing for convenient storage in the refrigerator, and it's also microwave-safe, so you can heat it directly. Its modest size makes it ideally suited for two people.

You can pack it with food for lunch, fill it with snacks or appetizers for parties, or even use it for desserts during afternoon tea. As it is easy to clean, it's very convenient for various uses.

The design incorporates the "Four Gentlemen," or "Four Noble Ones," a traditional combination of plants symbolizing virtue in Chinese art: plum, chrysanthemum, orchid, and bamboo. When combined with pine from the traditional Japanese "Three Friends of Winter" (pine, bamboo, and plum), the "Four Gentlemen" are considered to be among the highest auspicious floral motifs. Historically in China, these four plants, regarded as virtuous, were likened to the qualities necessary for a gentleman, hence the term "Four Gentlemen." They symbolize high esteem in the auspicious motifs, while the scroll represents wisdom and knowledge.

ABOUT ARITA WARE

Arita Ware, made in the town of Arita in Saga Prefecture, is the oldest porcelain production area in Japan's history. Arita porcelain is characterized by its translucent white porcelain surface, dyeing using "Gosu" (indigo pigment), and gorgeous red painting using glassy overglaze pigments (red, green, yellow, purple, and blue). The pottery is highly durable and is produced in a wide variety of styles, from fine art to daily necessities. It was exported to Europe, where it was prized as fine art and called "white gold".

 Arita Ware is also a prestigious brand that is admired by ceramicists from other regions as a representative porcelain production area.
