Cylindrical Shaped Basketry Wind Chime
Estimated Shipping Widget will be displayed here!
This wind bell is a combination of Suruga Bamboo Basketry and Nambu Ironware, a traditional craft of Iwate Prefecture in the Tohoku region. The wind chime is hung from the top of the bamboo craft with metal fittings. By using bamboo strips around the wind bell, a refreshingly cool interior is achieved.
Hanging wind chimes are good, but in a room, a wind bell placed on the table is also convenient. When placed in a breezeway or blown by an air conditioner or fan, the beautiful and cool tone of the ironware, which is different from that of glass, is soothing and comfortable.
The wind bell can be easily removed, so it makes a wonderful interior decoration for hanging mascots or accessories in seasons other than summer.
Please note that this product is lightweight, so it may topple over if the wind is too strong. Also, please do not leave it outside, as bamboo is vulnerable to rain.

Crafts
Suruga Bamboo Basketry is a traditional Japanese craft with a legacy spanning over 400 years, originating from the vicinity of Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Recognized as a national traditional craft in 1976, its inception is steeped in legend, tracing back to a court aristocrat's quest for elegant baskets. Over time, it evolved to produce bait containers used in falconry, commissioned by Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu, highlighting its aesthetic refinement tied to the leisure pursuits of nobility.
