Description

These bamboo chopsticks are made by Miyabitake, and the 16.5 cm (6.5 in) size is perfect for children between the ages of four and six. They are lightweight, making them easy for children to hold and use. The design, wider at the top and narrower at the bottom, aids in grasping food efficiently.

They have a diamond-shaped cutting on the top, which is an attractive accent to the simple design. The overall matte texture is not only aesthetically pleasing but also highly functional, offering a comfortable and practical user experience.

After use, wash in lukewarm water, and dry in the shade in a well-ventilated place.

Beppu bamboo crafts originated in the Muromachi period (1336 CE–1573 CE) when baskets for peddlers were made and sold. During the Edo period  (1603 CE–1868 CE), as the name of Beppu Hot Springs spread, kitchen utensils were made for use by the guests of the hot springs during their stay. As these items were brought back home as souvenirs, many bamboo crafts were produced and became a local industry in the Beppu area.

Miyabitake is a brand of bamboo products handmade in Beppu City, Oita Prefecture, which is the largest producer of Japanese timber bamboo.
