Estimated Shipping Widget will be displayed here!
Express your warm wishes for Mother's Day with MUSUBI KILN's "Happy Mother's Day!" card. It can be sent as it is or attached to a gift.
The card is crafted in a soft akebono-iro, a pink color with an orange tinge reminiscent of salmon pink. Temari balls, a Japanese folk craft, grace the corners of this card. Traditionally, a child's toy, the temari's perfect round shape, is considered an auspicious pattern. It embodies wishes to provide lifelong protection for women and to ensure that any difficulties are resolved smoothly, offering hopes for a peaceful and serene life.
Kumi-himo, the rope pattern on this card, is a craft that has been handed down since the Nara period (710 CE–794 CE). It is made by braiding thin silk threads. This motif also is meant to bring good luck and to ward off evil spirits. The design of the card is inspired by the "Genji Monogatari-zu Byobu" or Tale of Genji Scrolls, a national treasure that is often described as one of the most important works in Japanese art history. It vividly portrays the scenes from "The Tale of Genji" written by Murasaki Shikibu (973 CE–1014 or 1025 CE).
We also have a variety of greeting cards, such as "Happy Birthday" and "Thank You", so please choose the one that best suits your purpose.
