This Japanese sake set features a bright blue peony by Sato Tsuyoshi, an artisan known for his use of bright colors and florals. Using the technique of ink brush painting, his works have a sense of dynamism and unique expression.
With brush painting, which is a characteristic of Kutani ware, a thick peony motif is drawn as if it bloomed on white porcelain, and the center is decorated with gold leaf.
It comes with 1 tokkuri (Japanese sake carafe) and 2 sake cups. The smooth texture of porcelain feels relaxing and soft to your mouth, bringing out the rich yet delicate taste of Sake.
It is perfect for a special occasion when enjoying sake alone or with guests, and also an extraordinary gift for those who love Japanese sake.

Kutani ware is a pottery produced in the Kaga region of Ishikawa Prefecture, with a history spanning over 350 years. It is characterized by the heavy brilliance of the five colors of navy blue, red, purple, green, and yellow that are applied to the bold and daring lines. Peony
Often seen in Japanese art and design, the grand, luxurious peony symbolizes nobility, grace, refined beauty, and more. Introduced to Japan from China during the Heian period (794 CE–1185 CE), a time celebrated for its aesthetic refinement, peonies quickly became popular in the gardens of the aristocracy and were often celebrated in poetry. Blooming in late spring, these flowers display an array of colors, from deep reds and soft purples to vibrant pinks and radiant yellows. Their lush, expressive petals bring a sense of grace and elegance to each piece in this collection, elevating the table with artful beauty.
