This Japanese Furoshiki features a painting by an Edo-era cat-loving Japanese artist, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, for all cat lovers.
This unique artwork titled "Myoukai Kougoju Sanbiki(Cats suggested as The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido)" is one of the popular works by Utagawa Kuniyoshi, an Ukiyo-e artist of the late Edo period.
It features the names of fifty-five places, including the fifty-three stations on the Tokaido Highway in Japan, plus Nihonbashi and Kyoto, along with various cats.
All of the cats are charming and have unique expressions and poses.
This Furoshiki is made by a Japanese traditional weaving technique called "Chirimen", which gives it a unique texture with an uneven surface.
