This set includes two pairs of finely crafted chopsticks, combining chic blue and red hues with subtle shell inlays. Made from natural wood and finished with layers of lacquer on the bottom half, these chopsticks have a beautiful, rich luster.
Intricately designed with the traditional Japanese motif of a rabbit and a full moon, the upper half of the chopsticks features a shell inlay. This technique, known as kaizogan, is a traditional method used in Wakasa lacquerware, where abalone shells are artfully embedded. The nacreous layer of the shell shifts in appearance depending on the angle of light, and the subtle change in texture can be felt when holding the chopsticks.
To add to the decorative flair, each pair of chopsticks boasts a thin glimmering line along the middle. For the red set, this shimmer is gold and silver for the blue.
Coming in a decorative paulownia box, this set makes an excellent gift for newlyweds or for a special anniversary. Chopsticks are wonderful as a wedding gift as they signify "a couple supporting each other and spending time together."
